When the thought of starting a home-based business settled in our minds, we asked ourselves this question over and over again "Which type of home business should we consider?" .

Here are some important factors to help YOU in your decision making. Remember, this maybe a decision that will change your life forever:

What excites you or what are you passionate about?
This is important because if you are not having fun doing your business, it will be doomed to fail. You may feel the excitement of having your very own business initially but it will wane as time goes on. You will even dread the thought of doing something to keep it going. It would be similar to having a traditional job that you hated.

In our case, we love to travel and that is why we chose an online travel business. It is a good opportunity to get paid while YOU travel.

A good strong, solid knowledge about a topic of interest
You can start a home-based business as a consultant for example in your professional field. If you have a hobby, you can market your either your knowledge or your finished craft/product.

Distributor of products or services
You can join a network marketing company. This is easier because the product is already proven and the company would have marketing programs in place that you can use. However, it is important that YOU do some research to find a good, reliable mlm network company with a proven track record of success for several years.

We also joined a gourmet candles company because we love to burn scented candles. We chose Scent-Sations, Inc. for the reason above.
